The US and Japan have begun tariff talks with an aim to reach a deal as soon as possible. While there is no immediate halt on the tariffs, Japanβs top negotiator, Ryosei Akazawa, says preparations are underway for a second round of negotiations later this month. US President Donald Trump says both parties have made “big progress” as he personally meets with the Japanese delegation in Washington. But Akazawa says they did not discuss currency issues.
